He offers great suggestions, but never in a pushy way in order to just make a sale. Let him know something you may be looking for and he will do his best to accommodate you.   Stopped in after reading online that they might have trading cards (they don’t anymore), but I’m really glad I checked it out! It was my first time in a comic book store, and the owner was super friendly and easy to talk to. He took the time to recommend a great comic for someone just getting into it, and I ended up picking up an awesome poster while I was there too. I am definitely planning to come back and explore more—great local spot with a really welcoming atmosphere.

  This store is practically everything you could want for a comic shop! Friendly and helpful staff, clean building, new inventory with fewer back-issues, ample volumes of graphic novels, and most importantly: a focus on the books and their readers. Whenever I go to Decatur, I'll definitely be sure to stop by!

  TL;DR = great shop, great owner, great prices. Respectable environment for everyone. This shop is one of the best not only in terms of comic book stores but also for Decatur merchants in general. The owner/operator is one of the nicest and most helpful people I have had the pleasure of buying from and meeting. He is always reasonable with prices and will always consider things if you ask. You will always leave this place feeling like you got your moneys worth. They may not carry everything but they carry a lot of what they do have. And they have the best.   I had to travel to Decatur for an appointment and while there I stumbled upon The Comic Shop. I'm so glad I stopped in, the owner was incredibly nice and friendly. I picked up some comics for myself and my kids. When I told him my kids were into Pokemon and competed in tournaments, he threw in a cool promo. He also pointed me in the direction of another gaming store in the area to check out! The shop was lovely, very organized and clean.
