  Very cool place. Extensive inventory of all kinds of comic books and games. I mean extensive! Games for all ages here. Everything is neatly organized and presented in a format that makes it easy to find what you want. All very clean. There is a game room here too and it’s huge! You can count on the staff to help. I had some questions and they had an expert to help me. Prices varied and I am not an expert, but that seemed to be priced fairly and I noticed some items were priced very low.   Mayhem is an incredible game store. For just about any gaming hobby, they have everything you need. As an mtg fan, I was impressed by the vast selection of booster packs they have for sale. One of the more extensive inventories I have come across. Additionally, they have lots of binders with singles, all organized nicely. They also have a vast variety of tcg accessories including deck boxes, play mats, and spin downs.   Love this Mayhem!! I frequent this store with my brother and kids often. We stopped by at the beginning of the 2026 new year to spend some Christmas cash. As always, we spent an hour just browsing the large variety of games. I appreciate the selection for all ages as well. We are also a MTG and DnD family, so of course we spent more time checking out ALL those things too! I'm not a huge comic book reader, but there were so many!   The BEST local game store in the area! This is the one you were looking for. Seriously, this is the local game store you want to support. They totally understand the community aspect of hobbies. They have an awesome selection for pretty much every hobby you can imagine, and the pricing is always fair. This store really shows the love back to its customers—they’ve got great game rooms and host regular events. The biggest difference for me is their trade-in process: they give fair, honest prices for cards, blowing other spots in the area out of the water. Overall, Mayhem is easily the best game

  Had another fantastic experience at Mayhem. I walked in with a list of cards I needed to complete a magic commander deck and the guy was able to stand right there at the computer and look up the list of cards that I had and tell me exactly what set binders they would be in or if they would be in the case super helpful to where I was in and out in less than an hour, the customer service here is exceptional. I always love coming here I'm going to keep coming back.

  Amongst the local Pokemon TCG community, it has become well known to avoid Mayhem. Tried my luck tonight at going to a free tournament tonight. Told I couldn't play with an older card because it had a signature on it. I've heard bad things about Jon, but never interacted with him until tonight. As long as he's running tournaments there, I won't be going. Many better options in the DSM area for Pokemon locals/weeklies.

  I’ve been coming to Mayhem since Timespiral released in 2006, and now I have kids who go with me. The staff there has always been out going and helpful, from back when I was a 12 year old asking a million questions, to today when my 10 year old was asking them what colors he should paint his Tyranids. James took the time 19 years ago to answer my endless MTG questions, and it was awesome to watch him kneel down with my son and go over the Tyranid codex to show him the colors.   One of the most impressive game stores I have ever been to, a totally unexpected hidden gem if you wouldn't expect this type a store in Iowa. I came from out of town, from Texas which has a pretty substantial board game and comics culture, so needless to say I was impressed. I was more warmly welcomed by the staff, the selection of items here is phenomenal, and of course I'm going to be biased and get five stars if they have all of JoJo's Bizarre adventure in stock. Beyond JoJo's though, they've got everything here for you.
