  Awesome customer service! I bought a CIB DS game but the game card was not in great condition. I collect games and I really care about the condition. I saw before I left that they had one loose in great condition. They let me come back and swap the game with the one in better condition. I definitely recommend shopping here!

  1-Up Retro Video Games is an awesome spot for anyone who loves classic gaming. The store is packed with retro consoles, old-school cartridges, and some collectibles that bring back all the nostalgia. The staff are friendly, helpful, and clearly know their stuff, which makes browsing even more fun. They also have a small section with art for sale, some posters and a couple of Mario-themed pieces. It would be nice to see more of that creative touch throughout the shop since it would really add to the overall vibe. A few more themed decorations or local gaming art would make the space even coole

  Hands down the best retro games and consoles store in Sacramento. The staff members are highly knowledgeable of the products they’re selling while being respectful and friendly. We absolutely love 1-Up Retro and have been customers for years now and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Oh, and sign up for their free rewards’ program—it’s 100% worth it!

  An amazing store with amazing staff. You can find a large variety of old school and retro gaming merch along with some newer things. As someone who loved stores like tower video and dimple records growing up in the Sacramento area this store is a breath of what used to be. We gotta love and support our small local businesses!

  Great location with a pretty average selection. I get the feeling they, reasonably enough, rely on in-house trades for stock, but I don't think I've gone in and been able to find a game I was actively looking for. I would recommend they "seed" their stock with online purchases even if it means marking them up $10 to compensate. They have plenty of systems but the game selection is the equivalent of a wall of Madden 2007s for PS2: Whatever they have, you probably already have it or don't really want it. I like that they put on local events but there are other local options for when I'm lookin

  Stopped by the Studio Hero x 1 Up Retro fundraiser pop-up after the store break-in, and it honestly reminded me why community matters so much. Even with everything they had been through, the vibe was welcoming and supportive, and it was really cool to see people show up for them. We came toward the end of the event and weren’t able to participate fully, but the fact that so many businesses and customers rallied around 1 Up Retro speaks volumes. Wishing them continued success and definitely planning to support in the future.
